In this class, we discuss types and benefits of roofs, and how damage affects them.  Students learn about the interior and exteriors of roofs, and the benefits and drawbacks to different types of roofs.

During the class the student will learn:

  The different types of roofs

  Benefits of different roofs according to building type

  The damage associated with severe weather or other factors to different roofing types

  How damage can spread and/or cause other problems

  How roofs are measured and how supplements work

  Why a sturdy roof is the most important part of a building

There are numerous types of fire and smoke causes, all causing different yet severe damage.  There are complex chemical reactions and hidden damage, and using specific products and expert methods can help return property to pre-loss condition.

During the class the student will learn:

  • The behaviors and characteristics of combustion and fire
  • The characteristics of heat damage
  • The effects of heat
  • The behaviors and classifications of smoke
  • How to asses smoke and heat damage
  • How to test for clean ability
  • What processes need to be done to successfully clean after fire and smoke damage
